Coker headed to State Powerlifting third year in a row

This past weekend, Clara Coker and Lily Dawson competed at the Regional Powerlifting meet held in Academy.

Dawson did an outstanding job among competitors from both Class 2A and 3A, finishing 3rd in class 2A and 8th in the region. Coker finished 1st and qualified for state for the third year in a row, lifting a total of 885lbs.

“Clara has what it takes to be a high profile athlete,” Coach Rafael Williams said. “Today she overcame adversity and punched her ticket to the State Powerlifting meet.”

The state meet details will be announced shortly, but until then Coker will be concentrating on her other sports, softball and track.
