The Rosebud-Lott FFA Ag Sales Team consisting of Ryan Dutton, Price Thigpen, Cheyenne Cannon, and Salem Coker, competed in the Area competition this past week at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. Even though they did not advance to state, the young team made significant advances and plan to continue in the coming years. The team, consisting of all first year FFA students, competed first in district, placing 1st overall. Individual results at the area competition included Cheyenne Cannon placing 4th and Ryan Dutton placing 5th.

The Ag Sales Team competition consists of research, presenting in front of judges and forming a sales plan to submit to the judges. Each team is judged on the collaboration process and the final sales plan. Team members are individually judged over a written exam that tests sales concept knowledge.

“This team consists of all first year ag students and they killed it for their first CDE season,” said Ms. Mallory Day, FFA teacher and team sponsor.

Each member is set to return for the 2023-2024 school year and CDE season.
