Jamarquis Johnson represented Rosebud-Lott last weekend at the state tracj meet in Austin, TX. Jamarquis placed 2nd in the boys’ long jump with a jump of 23 feet, 2.75 inches. The first place athlete won by only a .50 inch margin. Johnson also set a school record with his jump, breaking the record previously held by Darrell Whitfield Jr from 2009.

Johnson then competed the boys’ triple jump and placed 6th with a 44 feet, 2 inch jump. The winning jump for this event was well over 47 feet. Johnson showed immense progress and potential in his events.

“I’m excited to see what JJ can accomplish in the next two years of high school and beyond,” said Coach Brandon Hicks.
