This past Saturday, Senior Mario Tre Watson competed at the 3A Area ATSSB contest placing 2nd and reserving a spot in the Texas 3A All-State Concert Band. Tre has been very successful this year, placing 4th at Regionals where he competed against 88 trumpets, and 2nd at Area where he competed against 24. Over 70,000 students from across the state of Texas audition for ATSSB annually, and less than 2,000 advance to the state level. Tre will leave for San Antonio on February 9th where there will be one day of chair auditions, two days of rehearsals, and finally, the concert is on the 12th where he will perform in San Antonio at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention.
