The RL Lady Cougars easily took the win over the Lady Bearcats last Friday night, Jan. 18th, in Travis.

The Lady Cougars showed difficulties at first, with low scoring and trailed the Lady Bearcats throughout the first period of the game. Rakasia Buhl was the first to land a basket and get the Lady Cougars on the board. Moody was able to pull away in the score and led RL until Buhl’s scoring brought the Lady Cougars close to Moody and Erakah Easley tied the game before the half.

The second half, the Lady Cougars scored first and played a stronger defensive game the second half. Moody matched scoring basket for basket until Buhl hit key three-point baskets to shoot the Lady Cougars in to the lead at the end of the third period.

The Lady Cougars were plagued by missed opportunities throughout the game on both offense and defense. The team were able to overcome the adversities and take the win.

Leading scorers for the game were Buhl with 14 points, Easley with 12 points and Clara Coker with 10 points.

The Lady Cougars then traveled to Bosqueville on Tuesday to face the Lady Bulldogs. RL pulled out a win, 36-24. Leading scorers were Clara Coker and Emma Hering, both with eight and Easley with seven points.
