Art students have several opportunities this year to participate in contests to earn money and awards for their hard work. Daily, Mrs. Paskanell Beeman keeps the students busy with learning the basics of art to preparing for any upcoming contest. Students are eligible to participate in these contests even if they are not in an art class, but first need to present their entry to Mrs. Beeman for critiquing. Current contests available to students include the Junior Duck Stamp Competition, due in late March; the Rabies Awareness Contest for middle school, the InCommons Bank art contest and in late May the RLISD Art Show. Students work throughout the year to perfect their skills and earn awards.
