Cougars look towards playoff berth:

The Cougar varsity baseball team improved their season to 13-8-1 with a win this past Tuesday in Bartlett.

The Cougars started things early int he first inning with Jeremy Ellison singling a hit and reaching base. The Cougars notched seven total runs the first inning with hits from Ellison, Ben Ford, Carson Layne, Kade Kleypas, Breon Lewis and Rolando Leon.

Rawling Barton is credited with the win. Barton surrendered only one run on one hit over three innings, striking out three batters in the process. Layne took over for the rest of the game, only allowing Bartlett three more runs.

The Cougars collected a total of 15 hits on the day. Ellison lead the team with four hits, followed Leon and Lewis who managed to make multiple hits throughout the game. Ford led the Cougars with two stolen bases. Cougars were on the ball the entire game and were error free. Ford is credited with most of the plays being made with eight.

RL next faces Thrall, there, at 7pm, with JV beginning at 4:30pm.
