One Act Play readies for Competition

It’s 1942, and two of Hollywood’s biggest divas, played by Ryleigh Alsup and Lily Thomas, have descended upon the luxurious Palm Beach Royale Hotel along with their assistants (Keri Endsley and Lane Endsley), luggage, and a legendary feud with one another in tow. Everything seems to be in order for their wartime performance…that is, until they are somehow assigned to the same suite. The Hotel Manager Mr. Dunlop (Christopher Powell) must deal with the very real possibility of damage to his Hotel and himself, as he is trying to keep the divas away from each other, while dealing with the two bumbling bell hops (Jayden Martin and Garrett Cook), a bothersome Hostess (Allysun Tays) and a sneaky reporter (Zanadi Burns).

Mistaken identities, overblown egos, double entendres, and a lap dog named Mr. Boodles round out this hilarious riot of a love note to the classic farces of the 30s and 40s.

Rounding out the ensemble is our wonderful crew of technicians. Katarina Powell (Stage Manager), Brendon Tays (Lighting), Nathan Crippin (Sound), and our running crew Mariah Bouvier, Jaymi Patterson, and Sherlyn Mondragon.

Cougar Theater will present its public performance on February 24, 2023, at 7:00pm in the Rosebud-Lott High School Theater. There is no cost to see this production, simply pay what you can or you donate what you can to our growing program.
