Lady Cougar Volleyball off to a good start!

Lady Cougar volleyball season has begun with a bang with wins over Mart and Mumford and most recently Bremond. The Lady Cougar team looks primed to repeat their playoff run to Regional quarterfinals last year.

Top performers from the week were Seniors Emma Hering and Hannah Willberg leading the squad in kills. Freshman Kayley Robertson had 41 assists while freshman Jackie Salazar had 21 digs. Sophomore Illeana Rodriguez caps off the high number stats with nine service aces.

The JV Lady Cougars went 1-1 the same week, beating Mumford but falling to Bremond. Leading players were Zakiya Larking with nine kills, Kiara Walker with 15 assists and 11 aces and Ava Hrabal with 12 digs.

The volleyball teams next play Aquilla at home on Tuesday night and travel to Groesbeck for a Friday night match-up with the Lady Goats. Sept. 1st will begin district play for the Lady Cougars on the road with Milano.
